D15.0 EDB STAFF ACTIONS - PROBATIONARY PERIOD END DATE CODING GUIDELINES

Generally, employees appointed to career positions serve a probationary period during which time their work performance and general suitability for University employment is carefully evaluated. For most career employees, the probationary period is six (6) months and for some it may be three (3) months or twelve (12) months depending on the employment action and the personnel policies and bargaining agreements. The chart below outlines the guidelines for determining the probationary period end date for all groups of employees. For detailed information, refer to the personnel policies and bargaining agreements on probationary period.
